Think about the look you want
Your linen forms the basis of your table. Go traditional with greens, reds and gold or modern with pops of bright colour.
Scallops and matching sets look elegant, while mixing and matching different styles will create a more informal setting.
If you take some time to think about your table in advance it will be easy to pull together.
Create fabulous place settings
Choose placemats with detailed borders, pretty cutlery and layered crockery. Coloured glasses are brilliant for catching the light and lifting the whole look. Add personal touches, such as a small wrapped gift and a hand written placecard tied to the napkin with Christmas ribbon. Go for crackers which complement your theme.
Atmospheric Lighting
You can't beat a candle for lovely twinkly light and a real festive feel. Votives are more child friendly, while tall candles in candle sticks make a real statement. For a pretty alternative weave fairy lights through foliage along the table.
Don't Forget the Decorations
You really can go as big as you like here! Marbled crackers are beautiful, foil wrapped sweets in pretty bowls catch the light as does fruit sprayed with gold or silver. Christmas baubles, cinnamon sticks and fir cones all add to the festive feel.
