New for Autumn: Block-Printed Linens Inspired by Folk Interiors and Vintage Textiles

As autumn arrives and the days turn softly golden, we’re delighted to introduce ‘Folk’ our new block-printed collection of napkins and tablecloths — inspired by rich autumnal colours, folk-inspired patterns, and vintage handcrafted textiles.

These new designs draw on Sarah’s love of nature, rich colours, vintage fabrics and folk interiors. Shades of deep russet red, moss green, and navy capture the warmth of the season and bring a sense of heritage charm to any tablescape.

Drawn by Hand, Painted in Watercolour

Like many of Sarah’s blockprinted table linens, the initial idea for ‘Folk’ began as one of her hand-drawn artworks, painted in watercolour to capture every detail and nuance of colour.

Handcrafted Using Traditional Block Printing

Our customers love the subtle variations only possible through traditional block printing so the next step was the carving of Sarah’s original drawings by skilled artisans on to wooden blocks. A different block is needed for each colour in the design so numerous blocks were needed to enable the hand block printers to recreate Sarah’s original vision.

A Beautiful Autumn Table Setting

Layer your block-printed tablecloth with our coordinating napkins, flickering candles, autumn leaves, crab apples or bowls of squash and pumpkins for an autumn table setting that feels both rustic and cosy, whether for a long Sunday lunch or intimate supper.

The joy of this new design is that it’s not formal or overly styled, it’s a very pretty, relaxed design that recreates the rustic, warm atmosphere of folk interiors.
