How to Decorate an Easter Table with Colour and Vibrancy

Easter has to be our favourite annual celebration. The time of year to celebrate renewal and the joy and energy of Spring. It’s also the time to gather family and friends to feast on new season lamb, Spring greens – not to mention the chocolate!

When it comes to Easter weekend festivities, we always make an effort with our Easter table, layering it with colour and pattern, beautiful Spring blooms from tulips to cherry blossom and sprinklings of pastel coloured Easter eggs. A beautiful table can set the mood for a joyful and memorable gathering so here are some of our favourite ways to celebrate Spring in style!

Choose a Fresh, Spring-Inspired Colour Palette

Go all out with the colour of daffodils and Easter sunshine or mix yellow with fresh blues, the colour of clear skies. Easter often coincides with the arrival of Spring blossom, which can make the prettiest delicate centrepiece for any tablescape.

If pastels aren't your style, a more vibrant mix of colours like coral, green and yellow can also give your table a fresh and energetic look.

2.      Start your table with a romantic, garden inspired tablecloth.

We always love a floral print at Spring to mirror the arrival of new blooms. This year we’ve introduced our popular floral Ditsy print in a fresh green on tablecloths and matching napkins. This works as a subtle backdrop to any napkins, placemats or crockery and works with almost any other colour combination.

If you prefer pinks then choose Ditsy in Pink, Pink Leaf or our new Suzani Stripe.

Layer on Pattern and Texture

Spring seems to call out for a whimsical, country style of table so we love to use our prettiest crockery with coloured glassware. For a more vintage feel, mix and match floral crockery.

Bring in the Spring Florals

Fresh flowers are a must for an Easter table setting! A simple vase of tulips, daffodils, or hyacinths brings the essence of spring into your space. If you want to keep things low maintenance, opt for faux flowers that still capture the vibrancy of the season.

Try to create a centrepiece with a variety of textures and heights. For example:

  • A low arrangement of pastel flowers in mason jars, scattered along the table
  • A taller vase with a few large blooms as the focal point
  • A mixed arrangement with Easter lilies, daisies, and branches

Flowers in soft pastel hues, such as light pink, lavender, and white, are perfect for keeping the tone light and spring-like.

4.      Add some subtle Easter touches

To truly embrace the easter theme you’ve got to include some easter-themed details. We love to paint some hand blown eggs in a design that echoes our table linen but if time is not on your side then a sprinkling of pretty pastel coloured chocolate mini eggs is always simple but effective.

.......

Decorating an Easter table is all about bringing together the joyful and vibrant elements of spring. Whether you’re creating a formal setting with elegant dinnerware and floral arrangements or opting for a more casual, whimsical vibe with bunnies, eggs, and pastel colors, the key is to celebrate the season’s beauty and light-heartedness. Add a few personal touches, such as name cards or treats for guests, and you’ll have a table that not only looks amazing but also makes everyone feel welcome and festive.

So, gather your loved ones, set your table with care, and let the Easter celebrations begin!
