How to Style a Fabulous Christmas Table
Over the past year we have been thrilled to see that 'tablescaping' has been on the rise. We have had lots of fun creating fabulous tables by mixing and matching our table linen with pretty glassware, crockery and cutlery.
Here are our top tips to help you create the perfect Christmas table.
1. Decide on a theme
Choose your colours and table linen.
2. Add place settings
Create impact with layered crockery and pretty cutlery. Placemats with detailed borders add interest, while coloured glasses, if you have them, always look amazing.
3. Festive Additions
Choose crackers which complement your theme. (We are loving marbled Christmas crackers at the moment). Brightly wrapped chocolates in pretty bowls reflect the light, make the table look 'fuller' and keep the children happy! 'Table presents' in Christmas wrapping at each place setting are a fun and thoughtful addition; games that can be played over the meal are always popular. Have fun with the myriad candle options available at the moment. We're going for tall and colourful ones in coloured glass candlesticks.
4. Decorative Essentials
Use jugs, serving bowls and salt and pepper containers in a mixture of textures, shapes and sizes. Glass and metal reflect the light beautifully and will add to the occasion.
5. Don’t forget the flowers!
We love using seasonal stems and foliage in a variety of vases along the table. Keep them low for cross table conversation.
6. Have fun with your accessories
Candles, ribbon, fruit (grapes, clementines, berries work well), Christmas decorations, ceramics, cinnamon sticks, fir cones etc. all add to the festive feel.
7. Hand written name tags make a nice finishing touch
There are so many fun ways to do this - attach with ribbon or baubles; Instagram and Pinterest are great sources of inspiration.
For extra comfort add a throw to the backs of the chairs..
